Hit by News – Exhibition at the Centre for Contemporary Art DOX

The Centre for Contemporary Art DOX presents the exhibition Hit by News, running from 6 March to 23 August 2026. The exhibition opens a fascinating dialogue between the world of art and media through a selection from the Swiss collection of Annette and Peter Nobel. Across nearly four hundred works by leading international artists, it demonstrates how print shaped society and visual art over the past century – from early avant-garde experiments with print media through post-war art to reflections on today's media practices. The exhibition is curated by renowned Christoph Doswald. The exhibition offers an exceptionally comprehensive view of the phenomenon of print art – art working with news, headlines, newspaper print, and the very role of media in society. Although it focuses primarily on printed media, its theme is highly contemporary: it raises questions about trust in news, media freedom, and the transformation of the media landscape under the influence of digitalization. The exhibition is accompanied by expert debates, educational programmes, and family workshops. DOX is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 to 19, address: Poupětova 1, Prague – Holešovice.
