Exhibition Books 6+7

The Archive of Visual Arts presents an exhibition in its library space at the Centre for Contemporary Art DOX dedicated to the last two volumes of the BOOKS series. The sixth volume focuses on the Young Paths edition and the seventh on the Slovak Poetry and Open Windows editions published by Slovenský spisovatel. The exhibition showcases distinctive visual design of covers and frontispieces and highlights the literary and artistic contributions of these editions. The covers and frontispieces feature work by artists such as Albín Brunovský, Miroslav Cipár, and Jiří Rathouský. The BOOKS series has operated since 2014 as an Archive of Visual Arts project focused on typographic specialties of Czech and Slovak book production – the book functions here as an independent artistic object and a space for experimenting with contemporary visual art in connection with literary art. The exhibition runs from 27 March to 31 May 2026. Admission is free as part of entry to the Archive of Visual Arts.
