Nika

Nika is a singer-songwriter and composer from Ostrava who blends jazz, pop, folk and alternative music in her work. Her lyrics explore personal relationships, the artificiality of the modern world, illusions of perfection, and themes of manipulation, pretence and psychological or physical violence.

For her debut album Flesh & Soul, she won the Moravian-Silesian art award Jantar in the popular music category, won the Junior category of the JazzFruit competition, and performed at festivals including Colours of Ostrava, Smetanova Litomyšl, Prague Sounds and Czech Music Crossroads, as well as at Paris-Prague jazz club in Paris and JazzClub Tonne in Dresden.

In March 2025 she released her second album Elsewhere - eleven tracks combining mature songwriting with musical experimentation. The album was shortlisted for the Anděl Awards 2025 and won the Moravian-Silesian art award Jantar for best album in the popular and alternative music category.

On stage, Nika is accompanied by drummer Jonáš Bjolek, pianist Pavel Duda and bassist Nicolas Gatto.
