Life Behind Walls: North Korea

Holešovická tržnice, Prague

200–750 CZK · ≈ 8–31 €

The multimedia festival "Life Behind Walls: North Korea" is created under the direction of writer and Korea specialist Nina Špitálníková, who has long documented testimonies of people fleeing totalitarianism. The organizers describe it as the largest event about North Korea and North Korean refugees in the Czech Republic and across Europe.

The main immersive installation occupies 1,500 m² in Hall 13 of the Prague Market Hall. The visual design of the festival is created by architect Barbara Bencová, portraits of North Koreans who escaped totalitarianism were taken by Tim Franco, author of the acclaimed series "Unperson". The exhibition is complemented by illustrations by Dana Lédl (Myokard). At the heart of the entire event are authentic testimonies of North Korean refugees.

The festival is designed for multiple generations — it includes the children's zone Tota lítá, which introduces younger visitors to the value of freedom in a playful way.

VIP tickets can be purchased here.
