Pragasón - "Cuban Music in Prague"

Pragasón is a Prague-based ensemble dedicated to authentic Cuban music. The group was inspired by the Buena Vista Social Club project, which gained worldwide recognition at the turn of the millennium.

Bandleader and vocalist Jorge Concepcion has assembled a nine-piece ensemble of musicians from Cuba, Peru, Argentina, Venezuela, and the Czech Republic. The group's repertoire draws primarily from traditional Cuban son and spans the era of dance halls, cabarets, and the birth of mambo and cha-cha-cha. The programme also features original compositions by José Ángel Samiñón - a Cuban singer, musician, composer, and producer based in Prague.
