Somebody Likes It in Plzeň

A Czech comedy by director Martin Horský follows a diverse gallery of characters of different ages, temperaments, and professions, each seeking happiness in their own way. Friends from a brewery send a message in a bottle, a desperate young man gets horns placed on him by his own brother, two loners are brought together by a crude parrot, an eccentric inventor battles a fateful prophecy, and a couple approaching fifty are surprised by unexpected sexual fantasies. A seducer with a talent for fathering twins gets both his girlfriend and mistress pregnant, a girl in trouble rents out her womb to a wealthy couple, and an emigrant returns to his homeland seeking an old love.

They are joined by a hundred-year-old cyclist on a journey around the world, a prison guard whom his "favourite" inmate finds even after release, or a passionate bowler and an even more passionate home nudist. Some of them will find love, others unexpected friendship, and still others will get some surprise from a chilled dozen or a falling star.

Director Horský's vision is summed up in his own words: "I would like to stir the waves of contemporary comedy, but above all I want to entertain the audience. The stories, anecdotes, and tales that interweave in the film are full of exaggeration and wild humour, sometimes absurd and dark, but with a warm heart beating beneath it all."
