Future Local Star Hochman Plays Former Global Star Thunberg
A one-man show by Marko Kristián Hochman, directed by Michal Hába, is a darkly comic statement about the helplessness of individuals and society facing the climate crisis. Hochman plays the famous Swedish activist - while his own story becomes part of the performance: a career turning point, a role in a TV series, moving from Brno to Prague. The production runs approximately 70 minutes. Hochman was included in the broader nomination for the Thalia Prize 2023 in the alternative theatre category.
The show alternates between satire, grotesque, and direct audience interaction - viewers risk being hit by a tennis ball or planet Earth itself. The production, full of pop-culture references, asks the question: must a person be a celebrity for society to actually hear them? Hába, known for his politically bold and provocative style, this time presents "ecopolitics" as the only possible way out.
The production is suitable for Hochman fans, admirers and critics of Greta Thunberg, and for those who are tired of moralizing and apocalyptic pathos - but who care about the climate.
⚠️ Warning: the production uses smoke effects. 💥
