Ambitious young Southern lawyer Kevin Lomax (Keanu Reeves) wins his sixty-fourth case in a row and receives an irresistible offer with his wife (Charlize Theron). John Milton (Al Pacino), the charismatic head of an exclusive law firm in New York, offers Kevin a position, and the hopeful young couple moves to the city.

Instead of a dizzying career, however, Lomax faces a hellishly dangerous life path - his boss is the devil himself.
