Zelenka's baroque opera comes to Prague's Studio Hrdinů on 30 July 2026, performed by the Musica Florea orchestra and Collegium Floreum choir. This staged version of the Czech composer's major work pairs live music with historical choreography and scenography inspired by Prague's Clementinum architecture. Studio Hrdinů, housed in the basement level of the Exhibition Palace in Prague 7, operates as an independent theatre venue focused on authorial and directorial projects. The performance is one of three Czech dates on the Musica Florea tour, with additional performances in Prague on 29 July and in Karlovy Vary on 2 October.

About the venue: Studio of Heroes

Studio Hrdinů is an independent theatre venue located in the basement of the Veletržní palác (Trade Fair Palace / National Gallery) in Prague 7. It operates as an open theatre platform with a distinctive dramaturgy focused on original, director-driven projects connecting Czech and international artists. Productions are rooted in drama with an emphasis on experimentation and strong visual elements. The venue also hosts festivals, exhibitions and workshops, and is supported by the City of Prague and the Ministry of Culture.

About: Musica Florea

The Prague ensemble Musica Florea, led by Marek Štryncl, has been reviving forgotten Baroque and Classical works on period instruments since 1992. Its own annual concert series Musica Florea Bohemia and large-scale vocal projects with the Collegium Floreum choir are central to its activity.

For the 2026 season, the ensemble prepared the Musica Florea Bohemia 2026 cycle with seven programs from Baroque to Romanticism, which runs from March 17 to December 3 at various venues throughout the Czech Republic.

In March 2026, Musica Florea opened the season with a tour program Stabat Mater dedicated to Spanish Baroque - in Prague, Nymburk and Brno - in collaboration with soprano Beatriz Lafont Murcia.
