About the venue: Rudolfinum

The Rudolfinum is a neo-Renaissance cultural monument on Alšovo nábřeží in Prague 1, built between 1876 and 1884 by architects Josef Zítek and Josef Schulz. Since 1992 it has been the home of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, whose main stages are Dvořák Hall and Suk Hall. The building also houses Galerie Rudolfinum, focused on contemporary art, and serves as the centre of the Prague Spring and Dvořák Praha festivals.

Filarmonica della Scala is the symphony orchestra of Milan's La Scala, founded in 1982. It performs both standalone orchestral concerts and opera and ballet productions at the house. The ensemble regularly works with top international conductors, including its principal conductor Riccardo Chailly.

Riccardo Chailly is an Italian conductor who has served as music director of Milan's La Scala and chief conductor of the Filarmonica della Scala since 2015. Before that he led the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and the Concertgebouworkest Amsterdam. He is particularly associated with the German and Italian symphonic repertoire.
