Fifteen-year-old John (Robert Aramayo) suddenly develops Tourette syndrome, bringing uncontrollable vocal and physical tics. He finds himself in conflict with those around him, who don't understand his condition. Shame prevents him from forming relationships.
This British film is based on the true story of John Davidson and follows how carefree adolescence gives way to harsh isolation. A turning point comes when John meets Dottie (Maxine Peake), the energetic mother of a former classmate. Through her support, John finds the courage to face his own life. Shame and isolation gradually transform into strength, and John learns to use his condition with humor - even as a tool for raising awareness. The British queen might even take notice.
