Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spacecraft light-years from home with no memory of who he is or how he got there. When his memory returns, he discovers he has a single mission: uncover the mystery of a strange substance causing the Sun to die and save Earth from destruction.
