I Swear It Wasn't Me

Fifteen-year-old John (Robert Aramayo) suddenly develops Tourette syndrome, bringing uncontrollable vocal and physical tics. He finds himself in conflict with those around him, withdraws into himself, and shame prevents him from forming relationships - the world around him doesn't know about his condition and doesn't understand it.
This British film, based on the true story of John Davidson, follows his adolescence: initially carefree, then suddenly interrupted by harsh alienation from a world that rejects him. A turning point comes when he meets Dottie (Maxine Peake), the energetic mother of a former classmate, who opens the door to support and understanding. Gradually he finds the courage to face his own life - and even the ability to use his condition with humour to raise awareness. The British royal family might even take notice.
