You Are Not a Woman, Sir!
Radek Brzobohatý Theatre, Prague
A musical comedy with songs written by screenwriter and director Karel Janák. Two strangers who simply needed a hug arrange a passionate date through an anonymous dating site - unaware that they are both men. Their long-awaited meeting turns into something that will turn their lives upside down.
The play cleverly shows what can happen when intimate matters like sexuality and love become a tool of power. Janák takes the contemporary trend of hypercorrectness to absurd extremes - and reveals how it all can end. The entire journey from a crazy misunderstanding to an extraordinarily correct totalitarianism is accompanied by the greatest Czech and Slovak hits of the past seventy years: "Love Is Love", "I Like That", "Bells of Happiness", "Oh, That Heavenly Love", "Stand by Your Truth" and more.
