Tourist Bus to Ještěd 2026

Tourist line no. 79 from Liberec's Horní Hanychov to the Ještědka car park operates from 3 April to 1 November 2026. It serves as a replacement for the cable car, which has been out of service since a tragic accident in autumn 2021. The bus departs from the final stop of tram line no. 3 in Horní Hanychov and stops at "Horní Hanychov, u lanovky" and "Horní Hanychov, Na Výpřeži". The final stop is at the Ještědka car park, from where it is approximately 750 metres on foot to the summit of Ještěd along the red tourist trail. The line runs at hourly intervals from 9:35 to 17:35. In April and October it runs on weekends and public holidays; from May to September it runs daily. The fare is 67 CZK for cashless payment or 84 CZK in cash. Tickets can be purchased via the Idolka mobile app, when boarding public transport in Liberec (by selecting "to another zone" – Ještěd) or directly from the driver. Tickets valid only for the Liberec zone are valid only up to the Na Výpřeži stop. The bus allows prams to be transported but is not suitable for passengers in wheelchairs. Bicycles and scooters cannot be transported due to capacity constraints. Departure times are coordinated with the tram line from Liberec city centre, which passes the railway station.
