Learning from the Landscape – Exhibition at the Gallery of the City of Pardubice
GAMPA – Galerie města Pardubic, Pardubice
The exhibition Learning from the Landscape at GAMPA – Gallery of the City of Pardubice is part of a joint project of two neighbouring institutions in the Automatic Mills complex in Pardubice: GAMPA and Gočár Gallery. Two parallel exhibitions were created in dialogue between the two institutions, each developing the theme of landscape from different perspectives. The opening reception took place on 21 March 2026 at 16:00 in the GAMPA amphitheatre. The exhibition at GAMPA runs until 22 May 2026. The curator of the exhibition at GAMPA is Piotr Sikora, and the curator at Gočár Gallery is Pavel Liška. The exhibition addresses one of the most enduring motifs in culture – landscape – not merely as an image of nature, but as a shared space where power structures, economic relations, and everyday experience meet. It raises the question of how we perceive landscape today and how our ideas about it are changing in an era of climate change and global economic ties. The exhibiting artists include Gili Avissara (IL), Larisa Crunțeanu (RO), Stacha Szumski and Tosi Kiliś (whose monumental mural connects both galleries), Xénia Poldaufová (site-specific installation combining painting with digital environment), and Jiří Žák. The project also includes an intervention in the permanent exhibition Transmise at Gočár Gallery.
