About the venue: Jazz Dock

Jazz Dock is a design jazz club opened in 2009 on the banks of the Vltava river in Prague's Smíchov district, opposite Children's Island. It regularly hosts concerts of jazz, funk, soul, blues and world music, as well as its own festivals. The interior was designed by architects Ivan Sládek and Jaroslav Ourecký; a rooftop terrace is open in summer. The venue also includes a bar and restaurant.

About: Max Light

Max Light is a jazz guitarist based in Brooklyn, NY, originally from the Washington DC area. He studied at the New England Conservatory and the Aaron Copland School of Music, and took second place in the 2019 Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz International Guitar Competition. As a leader he has released several albums, including "Henceforth" (Steeplechase, 2023) and "Chaotic Neutral" (AGS Recordings, 2024), drawing praise for his post-bop and fusion work with complex meters and a distinctive harmonic voice.

About: Jesse Simpson

Jesse Simpson is an American jazz drummer from California, a former student of Donald "Duck" Bailey who graduated from the Manhattan School of Music in New York. He has shared the stage with John Abercrombie, Chris Cheek and other New York jazz figures. Since 2022 he has been based in the Czech Republic, performing mainly across Europe.
