Josef Sudek: Iron, Steel, Machine — Galerie Josefa Sudka, Prague

In the extensive legacy of Josef Sudek, we find compositions far removed from romantic stillness. From the 1920s onward, he captured iron wires, nets, railway tracks, and trash cans - seemingly simple subjects that he always presented with a distinctive sensitivity to light.

During the 1930s, the influence of New Objectivity shaped his work, bringing heightened attention to material structure and texture. Sudek applied these approaches particularly in his commercial photography.
