About the venue: Municipal House

The Municipal House on náměstí Republiky is one of Prague's finest Art Nouveau buildings, erected between 1905 and 1912 to designs by Antonín Balšánek and Osvald Polívka. Its interiors were decorated by leading Czech artists including Alfons Mucha and Ladislav Šaloun. At its centre is Smetana Hall, seating around 1,200 - home stage of the FOK Symphony Orchestra and the annual Prague Spring festival. Czechoslovak independence was proclaimed here on 28 October 1918.
