Helen Mirren returns to the screen as Queen Elizabeth II in Stephen Daldry's acclaimed production, winner of both Olivier and Tony Awards.

For sixty years, Queen Elizabeth II met privately with each of her twelve Prime Ministers in weekly audiences. From Winston Churchill through Margaret Thatcher to David Cameron, she advised them on matters of state and personal concern. Peter Morgan's play explores the life of the woman behind the crown through these encounters, capturing moments that shaped one monarch.

The production was filmed live in London's West End in 2013 and became one of the most-watched NT Live productions. The same story later served as the basis for Netflix's successful series The Crown.

She was nominated for the 1992 BAFTA TV Award for Best Light Entertainment Performance for the comedy series Drop the Dead Donkey (1990–1991), and won the 2009 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical for her role in the Broadway production of Billy Elliot the Musical. She was also a four-time Olivier Award nominee. Her other television roles included Peak Practice (1999–2000), Merseybeat (2001–2002), and playing Camilla in The Windsors (2016–2023).

Bio Central is the last brick-and-mortar cinema in Hradec Králové, operating since 1929 under various names (Bio Slavie, Kino Jas, Kino Centrál). After a long break it reopened in December 2012. The large hall seats 384, the small hall 40. The programme covers mainstream and art-house films, live broadcasts of opera, theatre and ballet, a film club, and annual festivals such as Jeden svět, Dny evropského filmu and Cinema Open. In summer it also runs an open-air cinema at the Gayer Barracks.
