Bank clerk Stanley Ipkiss finds a mysterious mask and after putting it on, he becomes a living tornado – as if a character from an animated grotesque had come to life. Ipkiss enjoys boundless freedom, gives the police headaches, outwits gangsters, and wins over Cameron Diaz. Carrey gets full rein to go wild, and the filmmakers make maximum use of his energy and rubber face.
