A solemn mass on the castle courtyard on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of Znojmo. After the mass, a procession of the Blessed Sacrament will proceed to the rotunda with a blessing for the city; at noon all bells will ring and a toast will take place at the rotunda.

In case of rain, the mass will be moved to the Church of St. Nicholas.

About the venue: Church of St. Nicholas

The Church of St. Nicholas is a Roman Catholic parish church and a prominent landmark of Znojmo, standing on a rocky spur above the Dyje River opposite Znojmo Castle. The original Romanesque church from the early 12th century was replaced after the fire of 1335 by a Gothic structure built from 1338 to the first half of the 16th century. The three-aisled hall church with net-rib vaulting influenced by Peter Parler ranks among the most significant sacred buildings in Moravia. The interior features Gothic frescoes, a Baroque globe-shaped pulpit by Josef Winterhalder, and the relics of St. Boniface.
