The exhibition commemorates the tragic fates of villages that were destroyed and erased from maps by the Nazis during World War II.

Through authentic photographs, documents, and personal stories, it traces the fates of Czech and other European villages whose names became symbols of wartime terror.

About the venue: Holocaust Memorial of Roma and Sinti in Moravia in Hodonín near Kunštát

The Memorial to the Holocaust of the Roma and Sinti in Moravia stands on the authentic site in Hodonín u Kunštátu where a Protectorate so-called Gypsy camp operated in 1942–1943. It was one of two places (the other being Lety u Písku) where entire families of Moravian and Czech Roma and Sinti were forcibly concentrated before being transported to Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Administered by the Museum of Romani Culture, the site includes an information centre with the permanent exhibition "Camp Hodonín u Kunštátu: Intersection of Tragic Fates 1940–1950", a replica prisoner barracks, and the sole surviving original guards' barracks. The nearby Žalov forest cemetery is also part of the memorial area.
