Di Stéffano is a prominent figure on the Brazilian jazz scene. His music draws from the traditions of Brazilian rhythm — frevo, baião, and other rhythms of the northeast — and blends them with contemporary jazz sound built on improvisation.

His latest album Liberdade para Voar (Freedom to Fly) has garnered international acclaim. In his work, he moves between jazz, samba, blues, R&B, baião, frevo, maracatu, and Afro-Latin groove, paying tribute to musicians such as Ivan Lins, Dominguinhos, Jack DeJohnette, Herbie Hancock, Yellowjackets, and Brian Blade.
