Loď Tajemství, Prague
A theatrical road movie in search of those who have left us, yet remain with us still. A journey toward adulthood, filled with mirrors, carrying Lewis Carroll's book under one's arm.
The play explores the passage to adulthood through mirrors and images, seeking the path to someone who has departed, even though they are always here. Two Lenkas with the same voice, connected by an umbilical cord, lead the audience into the Wonderland behind the mirror — mother and daughter, or one and the same Alice? The only guide is a heap of living memories, among which scurry the stricken rabbits of Lewis Carroll.
A production about encountering great departure and saying farewell at the boundary between light and shadow. Lenka Šmídová (15 December 1961 – 27 May 2022), opera singer, exceptional voice teacher and mother, will wait behind the mirror, while her daughter Lenka stands alone on stage.
