Potopa

Potopa tells the story of a family in Czechoslovakia in 1980. Mara is 15 years old and dreams of becoming a pilot and escaping her rural life. Her father Alexander, a Rusyn farmer and widower, insists that she stay home and continue working the family land. When the valley faces flooding due to the construction of the Starina water reservoir, both must come to terms with the loss of their home and family heritage. At the same time, they seek a path to reconciliation amid the struggle between tradition, identity, and the desire for freedom.
