The Břeclav Castle complex stands on the site of an 11th-century border fortress, rebuilt in the 16th century as a Renaissance château and transformed in the 19th century by the Liechtenstein family into a romantic artificial ruin. The complex is a protected cultural monument and serves as the main venue for the city's cultural events. During the tourist season, the lookout tower and a wine cellar are open to visitors. The castle is surrounded by a park that merges into the Kančí obora forest.
