Journey Through the Branches

A dance-theatre outdoor performance inspired by Timothée de Fombella's novel "Tobias Lolness" is an outdoor version of the ensemble's production that was reprised in Prague theatres between 2009–2022. The journey builds on the ensemble's collaboration with Baobab publishing house and the 4+4 Days in Motion festival.

Children will venture into the forest and along the way meet characters from the novel and experience situations from the story of young Tobias, who faces injustice and fights for environmental protection. The journey uses the terrain and natural obstacles to develop movement skills; audiences together with dancers and actors enter the world of a leafy tree and travel through the branches from crown to roots, around a lake and across soft grass.

Light Dance Studio is an artistic association operating at the Popelka Music School in Prague 5, led by Lenka Tretigová. The ensemble focuses on contemporary dance and theatre with an emphasis on work with children and youth, combining dance technique instruction and creative dramatics with the creation of original productions and regularly represents Czech work at international festivals.
