Archidílna: City Above City
CAMP - Centre for Architecture and Urban Planning, Prague
What would Prague look like if it grew upwards, layered above the existing city? Is it possible to build new without demolishing what already exists?
This workshop draws inspiration from architect Karel Prager's 1960s vision of placing new buildings above the existing city in an additional layer — an approach that allows the city to develop upwards without expanding into open countryside.
Participants will work with constructions and together create a model of their own megastructure set into sloping terrain. They will try on the roles of urban planners and architects and think about the city as a system of interconnected layers.
