The House of Štěpánek Netolický in Třeboň presents the exhibition "Three on a String" from April 1 to June 1, 2026.

The exhibition features three personalities – Ivan Mládek, Honza Homola, and Petr Palma – musicians who also pursue painting. Each brings their own distinctive artistic style.

This Gothic-Renaissance house on Masarykovo náměstí takes its name from fish pond builder Josef Štěpánek Netolický, who acquired it by marriage in 1522. After a major reconstruction in 2014-2016, it now houses the Třeboň Fish Pond Heritage Centre with a permanent interactive exhibition on the region's pond-building history and the Golden Canal. The building retains Renaissance wall paintings of the seven liberal arts and a Gothic cellar; the courtyard holds a working model of the pond system. Lectures, workshops and temporary exhibitions take place here regularly.

About: Ivan Mládek

Born in Prague on 7 February 1942, Ivan Mládek is a Czech songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and comedian leading Banjo Band since 1966. The ensemble merges country, folk, jazz and tramp music traditions, accumulating thousands of performances across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Germany and internationally over six decades. His 1977 composition "Jožin z bažin" achieved cult status worldwide and was notably performed by Metallica at their Prague show in 2018. Beyond music, Mládek has created over five hundred paintings, authored thirteen humorous books and designed the Guitariano, a keyboard instrument shaped like a guitar.

About: Honza Homola

Honza Homola is the singer and guitarist of the Prague rock band Wohnout, active since the mid-1990s. He studied puppetry and worked in graphic design and digital photo editing before music became his main focus. Around 2018 he turned seriously to painting, producing expressively grotesque canvases populated by figures from real and dreamlike worlds. He sees improvisation as the thread connecting his music and his visual art.
