Circus Ponorka

A captivating one-man show by guitarist and film composer Honza Ponocný. Using his guitar, microphones, and loopers, he performs songs from acclaimed films like Revival, Perfect Days, and Buko, as well as the TV series Dabing Street. Honza Ponocný is one of the most renowned Czech guitarists and composers - he has previously collaborated with Ivan Král, Meky Žbirka, and Václav Koubek, and was a member of the legendary Circus Praha.

Circus Ponorka is his solo project where he creates the sound of an entire band on stage by himself. Using a single guitar, two microphones, and loopers, he records drums, bass, guitar parts, and vocal harmonies in real time. In autumn 2024, he released his fourth album Lost Angeles, featuring songs from films by Alice Nellis and the TV series Dabing Street by Petr Zelenka. Ponocný received Czech Lion nominations for his music for the films Revival and Mamas & Papas. Audiences at his concerts typically hold their breath in the first minute and don't fully exhale until after the final encore.
