Agriculture Exhibition at the National Agricultural Museum on Letná
Národní zemědělské muzeum Praha, Prague
The Agriculture Exhibition is located on the second floor of the main building of the National Agricultural Museum on Letná (Kostelní 44, Prague 7) and forms the conceptual core of the museum's presentation. It opened on the occasion of the museum's centenary as an interactive, dynamic, and modern exhibition. The centerpiece is a specimen of the bull Caesar, the finest breeding bull from the first Czech artificial insemination station. On the other side of the hall, visitors can see the original threshing machine of the Veverka brothers, which in the 19th century launched an era of new agricultural technologies.
The exhibition includes a symbolic timeline of agricultural development from prehistoric times to the present. The second part of the exhibition focuses on the present and future of the field – smart technologies, digitalization, and automation, including wireless sensors, GPS devices, and drones. The youngest visitors can explore a granary and pigsty and try their hand at making bread and butter.
The exhibition is part of the museum's broader offerings, which also include the Tractor Rides exhibition (ground floor), Hunting and Fishing (1st floor), Gastronomy (3rd floor), and the Living Garden on the roof terrace. Entry for children and youth under 18 is free. Guided tours with a lecturer are available by booking at lektor@nzm.cz (minimum 5 people, surcharge 80 CZK per person). The museum accepts the Prague Visitor Pass.
