Lush Blast

Can dance repair our bonds with the earth and connect us intimately with it?

Lush Blast is a walking performance in an urban park that explores the relationships between the natural and the artificial, the wild and the domesticated, and cultural representations of nature. Four performers guide audiences through various situations and, using suggestive songs and acerbic humour, ask what remains of wilderness in Europe and in people. Through their physicality and voices, they transform their own presence in an attempt to become something other than human, inviting audiences to a sensual feast and a cruel battlefield. After time spent in Carpathian wilderness, the choreographers seek to re-articulate power as a vital force, not as a tool of control.
