My Struggle. A Man in Love

The six-part novel series My Struggle by Norwegian writer Karl Ove Knausgaard (living in Sweden) is both an autobiographical confession, a recorded reality, and a celebrated literary event of the 21st century. Its theme is life itself – everyday acts and exceptional moments, feelings and thoughts that one often does not wish to admit.

At the heart of the dramatization is the second volume subtitled A Man in Love, which describes in detail Knausgaard's relationship with his wife Linda: "We told each other everything, the way people in love do, and although there was something unbearable about all that happiness and we knew it could not last forever, the thought that it might come to an end filled us with dread. Yet we lived as if we did not know it."
