Fairy-Tale World of Opera Stories – A Journey of Discovery
okruh Nové Podlesí, Příbram
A popular geocaching game for children aged 4–8, organized as part of the 57th Antonín Dvořák Music Festival Příbram (HFAD). This year's theme is The Magic Flute – a fairy tale about a journey to find a lost princess, reimagined in the world of classical music and opera. The bird-catcher Papageno invites children on an adventure, preparing fairy-tale storytelling, various tasks, and explanations of what classical music and opera are. Along a roughly 3-kilometre nature trail at Nové Podlesí, there are 10 stations where children find clues and tasks either hidden in boxes or visible at first glance. Children are guided by a booklet with maps, photographs, and clues for each location, a two-page answer sheet, and spaces for control stamps. The route is not demanding, but this year is not suitable for pushchairs. For each completed answer sheet submitted at the children's section of Jana Drdy Library, children receive a small prize; 20 lucky participants will win major prizes. Winners will be notified by SMS – it is therefore important to fill in the phone number carefully. The boxes and tasks can be discovered throughout the 57th festival, from 16 April to 9 June 2026.
