Jede traktor at the National Agricultural Museum
Národní zemědělské muzeum - Praha, Prague
Entry pro children a mládež free
The permanent exhibition Jede traktor is located on the first basement level of the National Agricultural Museum building in Prague (Kostelní 44, Prague 7 – Letná) and covers an area of over 500 m². It features more than twenty types of tractors from Czech and foreign manufacturers dating from 1917 to 1953 – among the displayed brands are Wikov, Praga, Svoboda, Škoda, Zetor, Fordson, McCormick Deering, Lanz Buldog, Deutz, Normag, Farmall, and Hanomag. A special highlight is the Excelsior motor plough from 1915, considered the predecessor of tractors. Visitors can photograph themselves on selected historical machines, climb aboard them, and experience what it feels like to sit in them. For the youngest visitors, there are pedal-powered tractor toys (for children aged 2 to 5) and balance bikes (from 1.5 to 3 years) with a special track within the exhibition itself. All age groups can try the Farming Simulator game or a tractor training simulator (10 min for 50 CZK on top of admission) – the simulator lets you sit in the tractor cabin, operate the steering wheel, and practice using the gear shift; it is now also suitable for children under 12 years old.
Schools can arrange a guided lecture programme (guided tour with commentary for 80 CZK per person, minimum 5 participants, book at lektor@nzm.cz). The museum is open daily except Mondays; admission to the exhibitions is free for children and young people. Prague Visitor Pass is accepted. Wheelchair access is provided via a ramp from Kostelní Street or from the museum courtyard.
