Eco-Train from Benešov to Konopiště
Masarykovo náměstí – Informační centrum, Benešov
Benešov's eco-train opened its 2026 season on Wednesday, April 1st, and runs annually from April 1st to October 31st according to a published timetable. The circular route connects the most interesting places in Benešov and Konopiště — the route measures approximately 15 km and has 15 stops marked as MTD (Municipal Tourist Transport). The train departs from Masaryk Square in central Benešov, where the Tourist Information Centre is also located. Along the way it passes the Imperial Salon near the railway station, Ferdinand Brewery, Karlov Hill with the ruins of a monastery, the Sokol hall, Rudolf and Stephanie Hospital, the natural amphitheatre in Konopiště Park, and Tuškov Hill with a view of the castle.
The eco-train runs Tuesday to Sunday (closed Mondays) and departs approximately 5 times daily during the season. Tickets can be purchased directly from the driver. The basic fare is 50 CZK and is valid for the entire circuit (direction to Konopiště and back). Children under 6 and holders of ZTP and ZTP/P disability passes travel free. The first carriage is adapted for prams and wheelchair users. The eco-train has been operated by Benešov Technical Services, Ltd., since 2012.
