May Alpine Plant Exhibition at Karlovo Square in Prague 2026

The Prague Alpine Plant Club organizes the 56th edition of the traditional May Alpine Plant Exhibition in the gardens beside Faust House at Karlovo Square — Moráni in Prague 2. The exhibition runs from May 5 to 22, 2026, daily from 9:00 to 18:00 including weekends and public holidays. Visitors can admire the largest club showcase of alpine plants, woodland species, azaleas and rhododendrons, woody plants and other often very rare and uncommonly cultivated plants arranged in thoughtful plant compositions and displays. The exhibition features plant sales directly from growers with expert advice, a traditional Visitor's Prize competition, and guided tours with commentary. The accompanying programme includes demonstrations of trough construction and a series of thematic events: Friday, May 8 (14–16) Construction of green alpine walls and trough arrangement (Vojtěch Holubec) and interactive talk about bats (Zdenka Holubcová, ČSOP Nyctalus); Sunday, May 10 (14–16) Exhibition tour with accordion music (Zdeněk Zvolánek and Petr Herynek); Tuesday, May 12 (14–16) Grass and miniature bonsai and exhibition tour (Petr Herynek). The exhibition takes place in a unique setting with majestic trees, a sandstone amphitheatre, picturesque corners and small ponds.
