A comedy about how theatre can or cannot be made.
In the first part, the audience watches the final dress rehearsal before the premiere of a boulevard farce Sardines, Sardines!, and in the second part its fiftieth performance — this time from behind the scenes. Sweat, tears and blood flow from the actors of the touring company. And it will flow from the actors right on stage. Why, for heaven's sake, why?! After all, it's just theatre.
