Grandmother didn't want to go to Florida. Yet she's the first one in the car, ready to leave.
Sunday morning. Haze over a dusty road.
Grandmother tells stories. About granite massifs, about her distant loves. About how a person must know where they come from, and about what is proper. She holds the world together.
"I was buried alive. You look to the right – there's a wall. You look to the left – there's a wall too. You look up – a ceiling. You look down – a floor. Jesus was the only one who raised the dead, and he shouldn't have done it. Everything threw the balance off."
Granite cracks in the frost, the afternoon sun burns.
Based on the short story "A Good Man Is Hard to Find" by Flannery O'Connor.
