Concert of Traditional Romani Music I
La Fabrika, Prague
The first evening of traditional Romani music at the Khamoro festival features three performances: Romani pop from the Czech Republic, a folklore show from Moldova, and flamenco from Spain.
Gipsy Brothers
The Czech band brings together musicians connected with the legendary group Bengas, fronted by David Kraus – a singer, actor, and enthusiast of Romani music. Kraus co-founded the band with musician Milan Šenka. On stage are, among others, Vladimír "Žabák" Demeter, whose voice is known to entire generations. The band's goal is to bring Romani music closer to a wider audience without losing authenticity.
Enigma Romilor
The Romani ensemble from Chișinău, Moldova, is among the most distinctive Romani ensembles in Moldova. They present traditional Romani songs and dances in modern arrangements while preserving their folkloric roots. The group's members perform regularly at festivals at home and abroad, and also present Romani culture in Moldovan television programmes.
Escuela de Flamenco Arabesquees
The Spanish ensemble consists of artists with experience from renowned flamenco companies. Behind the project stands a flamenco school operating since 1980, which has trained dozens of professional dancers. The ensemble has performed on stages such as the Madrid tablao Corral de la Morería and Teatro Flamenco Madrid. Their show combines classical flamenco with more contemporary elements.
