With Love: Syntax Error + The Last of Fuzz + more
Subzero, Prague
An evening showcasing the old and new sound of Syntax Error accompanied by live projections and new compositions, with several other artists on the programme.
The evening will open with Lull Devours, a Slovak band combining progressive rock with noisy experimentation — dense bursts with saxophone wails alternate with abandoned breaths. Next will perform the collective The Last of Fuzz (also as L((O))F), a creative ensemble composed of members from the bands Fumar Mata, Opening Act, Antonie and other musicians. The collective has no fixed lineup or repertoire and records all its music itself in its own studio of the same name, with an emphasis on cassette recording.
The main part of the evening belongs to Syntax Error, an industrial glitch rock band combining harsh beats with ambient passages and psychedelic live projections.
The evening will close with BabylonEly:
"I was born in 1985. At three years old, the devil scared me at night, but I was also baptized. From six to fourteen I grew up in a rectory, sang religious songs and slept. In a church, like by the sea. At eight I wanted to be Michael Jackson, at nine to be like St. Francis, to have stigmata, speak with animals and cry with happiness. And at ten to be Whitney Houston. With a wig and makeup, Native Americans and cowboys at a children's ball looked at me a bit strangely. I didn't understand it. At twelve I was wrecked and out of it. At fourteen I met a guitar, tried to cry like Kurt Cobain, sing like Lindsay Cooper and curse like Arthur Rimbaud. And that's all. That's me. Confusion of senses and speech. Babylon Ely."
