Calmake: Chalupski
Atrium Žižkov, Prague
Petr Mazoch has cancelled his performance due to health reasons. Václav Chalupský, aka Chalupski, will perform this evening and play an extended set.
Václav Chalupský, aka Chalupski, is a composer and producer. In addition to his own solo work, he composes music for contemporary dance productions — for example, "Uncovered" by Tereza Krejčová, "The End's Turnabout" by Michal Záhora, and the award-winning productions "display" by Tereza Lenerová and Jitka Čechová. He also contributed to the soundtrack for Lukáš Valíšek's short film "auto.au.rum", the film "Příběh Tomáše Bubáka", composed music for the educational application by developers SkillAdicts, and for advertising spots.
His discography includes two albums — "Vortex" (2019) and "Improvisation for Dance" (2022) — and a piano EP "Man of Gaeta" (2024). With the composition "Elia", he contributed to the compilation "Moderna", which under the Czech Radio Vltava banner maps the landscape of contemporary classical music performed by selected Czech composers. He previously played with Kalle and teepee; currently he performs in the pop duo Emma Smetana and Jordan Haj.
