Space Adventure Cobra: The Movie

Space Adventure Cobra, directed by Osamu Dezaki based on the manga by Buichi Terasawa, is a space opera in funky style with psychedelic visuals that blends the heroic escapades of Star Wars with irony and fantastical worlds like Barbarella and Flash Gordon. In a universe filled with inhabited planets and bizarre aliens, corrupt governments take bribes from criminal syndicates and place bounties on rebellious desperados. The highest reward is offered for the head of space pirate and adventurer Cobra, whose left arm conceals a devastating psycho-cannon. After two years of being presumed dead, Cobra returns to the scene and meets the beautiful bounty hunter Jane. When he promises to help her rescue her sister, he finds himself in conflict with the sinister Galactic Pirates led by the embodiment of death itself, Crystal Bowie.
