Emerged from the Shadow: Běla Kolářová

The final lecture in the series Emerged from the Shadow, focused on six prominent Czechoslovak women artists of the second half of the 20th century, is dedicated to Běla Kolářová.

For a long time she worked in the shadow of her husband Jiří Kolář before fully emancipating herself as an independent artist. The lecture will explore her experimental work, her use of everyday materials, themes connected to women's experience, and her path to finding her own artistic voice.
