JAN HRUBÝ AND FRIENDS (host: Ondřej Fencl and Hromosvod)

A legendary violinist joins Ondřej Fencl's group. The ensemble will perform classics that are inseparable from Hrubý's violin - "Špejchar Blues", "Variations (Love is Like Evening Star)", "Funebráci", "Sweet is Life", "Twenty Deka of Soul", "Astrologer", "Yeti Blues", "Touches", "The Big Lever" and more.

Ondřej Fencl will also appear as a guest with his core band Hromosvod and their album "The Dream of Insatiable Guys", which critics recently named album of the year. Fencl and Hrubý collaborate in other ensembles as well, including with Vladimír Merta.

Violinist Hrubý and singer, keyboardist and guitarist Fencl are accompanied by Vojtěch Jindra (electric guitar, including Bran), Hana K. Vyšínská (violin, including Inflagranti), Jan Neruda (bass guitar, including V. Martinová, Tribute to Z. Navarov, 5P) and Tomáš Marek (drums, including Lucie, Kollerband, Petra Janů, Ilona Csáková).

The programme features songs from the chronicle of Czech big beat by Vladimír Mišík, Michal Prokop and Vladimír Merta, instrumental pieces with Celtic influences and original compositions by forty-five-year-old Ondřej Fencl, also known from Luboš Pospíšil's 5P, the ensemble Marsyas, Schodiště and Poetry Evenings with actress Kristýna Ryšková. Hrubý will soon turn 78.
