As part of the exhibition VESELÍ 1256 - 2026 770 YEARS SINCE THE FIRST MENTION OF VESELÍ, a hands-on workshop in medieval calligraphy is being held. You will experience writing as medieval scribes did.

You will learn about medieval script and initials - the decorated first letters of texts.

About the venue: Municipal Museum Veselí nad Moravou

The city museum on Bartolomějské náměstí, in the oldest part of Veselí nad Moravou, operates as a branch of the Masaryk Museum in Hodonín. Its collections cover archaeology, history and ethnography of the Veselsko and Horňácko regions - ranging from Stone Age finds and guild records to part of the local castle's inventory, folk costumes, ceramics and embroidery. A new permanent exhibition, "Od Doubravy po Javořinu", opened in summer 2024. The museum society that gave rise to the institution was founded in 1906, with the first public display opening in 1910.
