Boxtrolls

In Cheeseborough, it's not wise to venture out after dark. Strange creatures called the Boxlings crawl out of underground lairs, stealing everything they can get their hands on - legend has it they once even stole a small boy. And that very stolen boy will tell you in this thrilling tale that it's all just godless lies and nonsense.

The creators of Coraline and Norman and the Ghosts have unleashed their visual imagination and crafted a world that anyone would be happy to explore - except for Mr. Snatcher. This crude fellow with a cheese allergy has unfinished business with the Boxlings, and when he's not hunting them, he's at least slandering them.

Box-shaped creatures who wear cardboard boxes instead of clothes are extremely timid and would never leave their underground kingdom if they didn't need metal parts for their contraptions. They fear people and keep their distance - with one exception: a boy named Egg, whom they don't consider human. They found him as an infant with a box pressed to his chest, so he must be a Boxling too.

Since one can't deny one's roots, Egg ventures more and more into the human world. On one such expedition, he learns of Mr. Snatcher's sinister plan - the people of Cheeseborough have promised him a white hat as a symbol of the highest prestige if he catches all the Boxlings. The Boxlings need help - and it will come from the most unexpected place. If only it's not too late.
