Don Quixote

Cervantes' Renaissance novel "The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha" is considered one of the first European novels ever written and certainly ranks among the greatest works of world literature. It has been translated into eighty-five languages and remains a challenge for visual artists, musicians, and theatre makers worldwide - especially in Europe, whose idealistic and humanistic spirit it has embodied for more than four hundred years.

Is Don Quixote a madman who cannot see reality? A genius who alone can perceive it? A left-wing activist refusing to accept it? Or is he our contemporary, living four hundred years later in an age where - in the words of philosopher Baudrillard - reality no longer exists?
