Description was written before the event

A tragicomedy about the private life of France's last queen, with an inevitable tragic end.

The fate of the last French queen stands at the intersection of great historical events and a single human life. At fourteen, she was sent from Austria to France to marry the crown prince; before she turned twenty, she became the French queen at the side of Louis XVI and gave the dynasty four children. She spent fifteen years in the splendor of Versailles, dazzling audiences with extravagant costumes and enormous wigs—until her husband's reign was swept away by revolution. She lost two children, attempted to escape from prison, and died at thirty-seven.

American author David Adjmi (born 1973) portrays her as a contemporary girl trapped in the whirlwind of consumer culture, where an endless abundance of entertainment and pleasures masks the debt mounting somewhere below the surface. The production is directed by Janka Ryšánek Schmiedtová, who has created numerous award-winning productions and original texts in Czech theatre and led the ensemble of Ostrava's Divadlo Petra Bezruče for several years.

The performance is suitable for viewers aged 15 and above.
